25 Readings to Christmas; the Back Story
I heard some good Christmas stories growing up. I read quite a number of them too. Recently, sitting on my front porch with a friend we got talking about how much tension there was in the country given the then upcoming elections . We were lamenting how much focused we adults have become on surmounting our own challenges that we've neglected the children and are denying them the joy of the Christmas season. It is December and nothing was telling that Christmas is almost here. We began reminiscing about Christmas past and how they were spent.
As we shared our stories from Christmases past, we got excited and got talking about our favorite Christmas stories. We remembered the story of the Elves and the Shoemaker and told it to each other in parts. Some parts of the story evaded us. So I told her my children have a copy of the Teasury of Christmas stories so we can find out and fill in the gaps where our memories failed us. I brought out the collection and we began to read out loud to each other.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and laughed out loud. Then it hit me, we shouldn't be the only ones to enjoy the stories. We learnt new things, amazing traditions of Christmas in other parts of the world. Since we couldn't be everywhere I decided to produce an audio version so children everywhere in Ghana can listen and have fun learning as well.
Here are some stories that started me off on producing 25 Christmas stories for your listening pleasure. Enjoy.

If you enjoyed listening , spread the joy of the season, like it and share on the socials.
I would love to hear from you about your own experiences at Christmas. What makes it special? How have you celebrated Christmas through the years? Has the joy of childhood Christmas become a faded memory or are you as exited about it today as your children are?
Children, do write to me and share your own favorite Christmas story with me.
Come on, Try your luck. You just might win the biggest balloon in the whole wide world.
